New season, new vision

It's really kind of exciting when "old" things get dusted off and updated. Of course, no one is suggesting that either the Orchestra or its Music Director are old, but after 25 years it would be easy to fall into predictable, boring ruts. It takes vision, energy, and drive to look not just at an orchestra's present but also its future. Happily, Maestro James Domine and the Board, staff, and musicians of the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra are savvy and are doing just that!

The subtle winds of change that began swirling about the Orchestra several seasons ago are gaining momentum. The musicians can certainly feel it, and we hope our audiences can hear it. As the Orchestra moves to better define itself as an ensemble, things can't but help improve. The past few seasons have seen the programming of a daring and exciting concert repertoire, which has only been possible due to the high calibre of musical selections and outstanding performances, thanks to Maestro Domine.
