James Birch
Making his debut with the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra, James Birch was born in Sydney, Australia and began playing the violin at age four and a half and the piano at age five.
He currently studies with Robert Lipsett at the Colburn Music Academy and previously held an Extraordinary Merit Scholarship for exceptionally gifted musicians at the Junior Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, where, by special arrangement, he studied with renowned musician and pedagogue David Takeno in addition to working with luminaries such as So-Ock Kim, Simon Blendis, Evgeny Sorkin, Nicola Benedetti, Shlomo Mintz and Simon James.

The San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra’s annual fundraising gala is our most anticipated event of the season, with private performances of the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra, plus surprise guest piano virtuosi. Guests will enjoy this along with other music lovers, while sampling cocktails, wines, and elegant hors d'oeuvres.

"SUMMER CONCERT IN THE PARK" The San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro James Domine gives its annual summer concert this year at the Shepher Community Center of the Israeli-American Council, 6530 Winnetka Ave. Woodland Hills. The Concert features the Inaugural Performance of two James Domine compositions, the "Concertino for Piano" and String Orchestra" played by Nini Tu, Sophie Huang and Joanna Ezrin and the "Flute Concerto"played by flutist Alice Park. The eclectic program includes a new orchestral Tribute to Chuck Berry, and symphonic arrangements of classic Broadway, Jazz and Rock tunes sung by vocalist Rebecca Ray.
